Traditional oil pulling for oral and dental care
Everyone knows it when getting up in the morning: dry mucous membranes in the mouth or a bland, unpleasant taste in the mouth. Already more than 3000 years ago people in India knew how to help themselves, as the oldest Vedic writings show.
Our Ayurvedic mouth oil made from matured and cold-pressed sesame oil is also mixed with pure natural thyme and sage oil. These aromatic oils improve the taste, promote blood circulation in the gums and thus support your dental health and oral hygiene. All oils used come from controlled organic cultivation. Just like our alkaline toothpaste, our mouth pulling oil from EcoControl GmbH is certified according to the NCS Natural Cosmetics Standard, a standard of the society for applied business ethics.
Who started the oil pulling trend?
Traditional oil pulling is already described in the old scriptures of Ayurveda (Charaka Samhita). The doctor Fedor Karach popularized the method in the western world in the 1990s. At a meeting of the Association of Oncologists and Bacteriologists, Dr. Karach pointed out an unusual healing method which caused doubts because of its simplicity. By pressing and rinsing an oil between the teeth and in the oral cavity, the healing process of cells, tissues and organs should take place alone.
After his original presentation, Karach recommended pure sunflower oil for an oil pulling cure. A tablespoon is rinsed in the mouth on an empty stomach for 15-20 minutes in the morning and sucked through the teeth. Initially, the oil is golden yellow and viscous, but then becomes thinner and thinner as the flushing time increases. Then spit the oil out into a paper handkerchief, rinse your mouth thoroughly with warm water and brush your teeth. The spat out liquid contains bacteria, pathogens and toxins.
Double effect shortens oil pulling
According to the teachings of the oldest natural medicine, Ayurveda, Droste-Laux Naturkosmetik relies on the draining properties of sesame oil. Specially prepared sesame oil also has an effect on the reflex zones of the tongue, the surface of which is also assigned to different organs. This 'double effect' shortens oil pulling to 3-5 minutes. While this detox form is said to have a positive effect on numerous complaints and experiences, the effects on oral and dental health have been proven (Indian Journal of Dental Research 2011).
Oil pulling is scientifically recognized in dentistry
The study results show that during oil pulling, the oil is emulsified and saponified in the mouth, a mechanism that reduces caries bacteria (Streptocoppus mutans) by around 30% and an alkaline effect that contributes to the deacidifying and disinfecting effect. In contrast to toothpaste, oil reaches all gaps, spaces and gum pockets. After the morning ritual, it is best to take our alkaline toothpaste with Epiphany gold, frankincense and myrrh. The most noticeable effects of oral and dental care products are the strengthening of the teeth, the end of bleeding gums and radiant white teeth.
The development of tooth decay and paradontosis is a complex process involving both internal and external factors. Due to its alkaline effect, this mouth oil helps to neutralize acids in the mouth and thus prevents tooth damage.
Rincer dans la bouche à jeun pendant 3 à 5 minutes le matin et bien presser. Rincez ensuite à l'eau tiède.
Put 1 tablespoon of mouth oil in a glass of water for rinsing.
In contrast to toothpaste, the oil reaches all gaps, spaces and gum pockets.
For best results, clean your teeth afterwards with our alkaline toothpaste.
